Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, representing Cross River North in the 10th Senate has dismissed claims of fronting family members in public procurements, saying that such allegation was the handiwork of political mischief makers.

Reacting to claims of project execution by a company linked to a family member as reported by one of the social media handlers, the senator said focus should be on project delivery, as he was not a director in the said company.

Senator Jarigbe wondered why the publication was more concerned with a project that has been executed rather than asking questions about other projects captured in the 2023 budget for Obudu, Bekwarra and Obanliku Federal Constituency, where near to nothing has been implemented.

According to the ranking Senator, his siblings are Nigerians and have the inalienable rights to bid and win projects. “The concern should be if those projects are fully executed.” He stated.

He described the publication as failing the cardinal journalism of balance and fair hearing, stressing that the individual behind the insidious narrative “was looking for who to blame for his own misdemeanours.”,

“The individual behind this spurious allegation is definitely on a mission of self-destruction. I want to urge journalists to demonstrate values of their profession of which balance and hearing the other side and not kowtow to politically motivated spurious allegations,” the senator stated.

He reiterated his commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to the entire people of Cross River North as his focus, he says, is to enhance the welfare and standard of living of his constituents which he has consistently done in his time in office.

In 2025, the Cross River North Senator flagged off rural water projects with 22 communities benefitting across the five local governments of the senatorial district.

Also, all the listed projects facilitated by him to include supply of 130 motorcycles to Obudu Local Government Area; supply of 41 all-in-one desktop computers with tables, chairs, printers, and UPS units; emergency rice supply to Cross River North Senatorial District, and construction of solar street lights in Nkum Ekajuk and other communities are noted to have been executed.
