Plans for a possible successor of Engineer Abdullahi Sule, the governor of Nasarawa State and the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate for 2023 is being set in motion
it is alleged that governor Sule and his cronies are paving way for Dr Shuaibu Faisal to succeed him come 2027, while Honourable Abdullahi Jafaar, who recently defected from the APC to PDP is warming up for 2027.
Core Reporters gathered that at every venue of the campaign rally, which started from Toto Local Government Area and ended at Kokona , covering the western senatorial zone in three days, and with free medical services as provided to ailing residents of the areas, the aim was to market the Nasarawa born NPHC boss ahead of 2027.
From the campaign organization programme, the free medical services was sponsored by ” Friends of Faisal” in support of the governor’s bid for reelection in the 2023 general election.
The story making the rounds as alleged in some quarters was that the provision of the free medical services was a grand plan by the incumbent to introduced his likely successor after the expiration of his his tenure by 2027, if he eventually scale through the second time in office.
The fact on ground is that in the event of the governor’s success in the upcoming election to complete eight years in office, Nasarawa North Senatorial district, based on rotation, the zone would have taken it share and the western zone shall be where a governorship candidate will emerged by 2026 in preparation to another general election for 2027.
Be that at it may, marketing Dr Faisal Shuaib, who has excellently perform in his area of national assignment would not be out of place, but that also depends on he incumbent governor Abdullahi Sule succession in the 2023 election and in view of 2027 which is about five years ahead, changes are bound to come if not from the ruling All Progressive Congress, but from other opposition parties .
And fact emerging from some sources, also had it that the recent defection of a governorship aspirant from the APC to the opposition PDP, a former House of Representative member, Honourable Abdullahi Jafaar, was to plan ahead becoming the governorship candidate of the PDP in 2027.
Political watchers from Nasarawa West Senatorial District who viewed the plans ahead of times confirmed that with the free medical services, which has become part of the campaign for governor Abdullahi Sule for 2023 bid, said it has helped in no small measure to attract support for the governor and Dr Faisal.
