The CEO cum General Manager of Enugu Rangers Football Club, Davison Owumi, has formerly congratulated Nigeria’s flag bearers in the forthcoming CAF campaigns.

Owumi, it would be recalled advocated for a minority vote against the adoption of Points Per Game, PPG, to determine the three representatives of Nigeria in both CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup matches

Speaking in a Jah Fm Sports programme monitored by our reporter, Owumi congratulated the emergence of Plateau United, Enyimba FC of Aba, Rivers United and Kano Pillars in that order.

But, Owumi emphatically condemned both the NFF and the LMC in what he tagged; ‘very inconsistent methodology.’

They’ve changed and adopted three different approaches that are not in tandem with the Rules and regulations govern the competition

“In their first outing they cancelled the NPFL due to congested programme; the second they had to beat CAF deadline and now a strange PPG that favoured a few,” Owumi lamented with an optional tone

The former International was not done as he queried why four clubs were elevated to play on the continent, while those who are heading for the drop survived

The former speed star who enjoyed the moniker of Okada Air at his prime claimed that he was at sea with the new format that the Nigeria authority would apply when the element of force majeure is the only option.

The shrewd and cocky soccer administrator also aimed swipe on some of his colleagues whom he labelled opportunists in their quest to go to the continent,

“We are not desperate to return to CAF organised competitions because we have been in and out of it consistently”, Owumi Boasted.

You may wish to recall that COVID-19 Pandemic, which is ravaging the whole world with fatalities, stalled most of the sporting events amongst other activities across board.
