Remo Stars FC of Ikenne Remo, Ogun State have continued with her exceptional performances at the ongoing 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) beating Wikki Tourists 2-1 at Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi on Sunday to maintain the first position on the log.
The Ikenne Remo based NPFL side went into the game with 11 points in five games and with the away win in Bauchi they are currently with fourteen points in six games
Remo Stars are one of the three newly-promoted clubs to the apex football league in the country and they have gone unbeaten in the last six games of the season; winning four and drawing two.
However, in other games played over the weekend, Rivers United defeated Kwara United 3-0 and are placed second on the log with 12 points in six matches, Enugu Rangers also defeated MFM 2-0 and they are occupying a third place on the log with 11 points in six games.
In other games; Akwa United beat Katsina United 2-0 in Uyo on Saturday while Enyimba forced Gombe United to a goalless draw in Gombe. Both teams are with 10 points in six games and are occupying fourth and fifth places respectively.
