Newly promoted Remo Stars FC and Enyimba International FC of Aba have both maintained a perfect start to the 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) as both teams recorded another win on matchday 2.
Remo Stars defeated visiting Heartland FC of Owerri 3-0 on Sunday to move top of the log having picked an away win in the matchday one of the NPFL against MFM in Lagos.
However, the Peoples Elephant also picked their second win of the season on Sunday against their hosts, Rangers International. Enyimba got the season started in a home win against Abia Warriors, and they are second on the log behind Remo Star.
In other games played across the country; Akwa United got an away point as they played a 1-1 draw against Shooting Stars of Ibadan, their hosts. With this result, the defending Champions are played third on the log with 4 points in two games.
Rivers United beat Katsina United 3-0 in Port-Hardcourt in the second game of the season and are placed fourth on the log with 4 points in two games.
However, Kano Pillars played a goalless draw against visiting Lobi Stars of Markurdi, Abia Warriors piped Sunshine Stars 1-0, Wikki Tourists also piped newly promoted Niger Tornadoes 1-0, same with Plateau United who defeated Kwara United 1-0 in Jos.
Meanwhile, Dakkada FC MFM FC 2-0 in Uyo and Nasarawa United also played out a 1-1 draw against visiting Gombe United.
