Nigeria, Brazil Deepen Bilateral Relations For Stronger Health, Economic Dev.
Brasilia (Core Reporters) Nigeria President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s state visit to Brazil has strengthened Nigeria-Brazil relations, with a focus on health cooperation and economic development.
According to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the visit is the “restart of Nigeria-Brazil relationship”.
Both presidents demonstrated an inspiring brotherhood and an uncommon commitment to strengthened South-South cooperation for the benefit of the two countries.
During the high level bilateral interaction, of ministers and senior government officials, it was an opportunity to chart a way forward in the health cooperation between Nigeria and Brazil.
Nigeria proposed the development of a Five-Year Joint Action Plan to take the MOU signed in July between the Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria and the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil forward.
Nigeria also proposed a strategic government to government procurement deal for the health sectors of our 2 countries.
Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr Iziaq Kunle Salako is part of the delegation on the state visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Brazil.
