Katsina (Core Reporters) President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau has described the demise of Hajiya Safara’u Umaru Radda, mother of Katsina State Governor  Dikko Umaru Radda, as a colossal loss, not just to Katsina State but the nation at large.

The NFF President made this known when he paid a condolence visit to the Katsina State number one citizen at the Katsina State Government House on Wednesday.

Gusau prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased mother of the governor who passed away last week after a brief illness. He urged the governor to take solace in the good works done by his late mother while on earth, and imbibe fully the spirit of love, peace and togetherness which the deceased was widely known for.

The NFF President also commended the governor for hosting the Nigeria U20 boys, Flying Eagles as the team continues preparations for the 24th Africa U20 Cup of Nations finals, now to be hosted by Egypt and billed to kick off on 27th April. He described the governor as a football-loving personality, while urging his fellow governors to take a leaf from him in order to further promote football development at grassroots level across the country.

In his response, Governor Radda thanked the NFF President and his entourage for the condolence visit, while asserting that the Katsina Football Academy is his personal pet-project.
