A Civil Society Group, Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Peace Security, Good Governance, Equity and Justice (PACA) has condemned the harebrained criticism of the redesigned naira notes printed locally by the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Plc (NSPM), saying that it was borne out of ignorance and mischief.
In a press statement made available to journalists in Abuja and signed by the national coordinator, Comrade James Okoronkwo, the foremost advocacy group stated that the new naira notes are of the highest quality as the old notes and passed through the same printing processes and finishing procedures which the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Plc (NSPM) has been using since 2014.
Continuing, PACA maintained that rather than villifying the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Plc (NSPM),we should applaud the organization for saving Nigeria scarce foreign exchange by printing the naira locally.
Furthermore, the group urged Nigerians to desist from the unpatriotic and perfidious act of subjecting the redesigned naira notes to experiments saying, that the new naira notes were printed using the best technologies and practices.
Finally, the Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Peace, Security, Good Governance, Equity and Justice (PACA) passed a vote of confidence on the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Plc (NSPM),Mr Ahmad A Halilu for quality service delivery urging the authorities and stakeholders to disregard the campaign of calumny against his transparent and sterling leadership of the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Plc (NSPM).
