Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken steps geared towards reclaiming power by unveiling what it terms Strategic Governing Policy.
Briefing newsmen on Thursday at the Ombugadu state campaign office in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, the Director General of Ombugadu for governor campaign team, Hon ,Labaran Maku, said the essence of the press briefing was to make their position known ahead of the campaigns, saying they will engage on issue based campaigns against violence, campaign of calumny and thuggery.
The former information minister , Labaran Maku said in a democracy openness and understanding should be the responsibility of any political party.
” We in the PDP will not crushed our opponent, like the ruling party in the state had earlier mentioned, but we will not hesitate to crush bad government out of the state” He said.
Also speaking, the state chairman of the PDP, honourable Francis Orogu pointed out that while the ruling All Progressive Congress APC, are planning on how to crushed it opponents in the opposition party’s, the PDP will not be involved in violence and has no plan to crush any of it opponent.
On his part, the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, Honourable David Ombugadu, while fielding questions from journalists, said he has a one point agenda, which is Wealth Creation, through which he will industrialized the state economic sub-sectors.
According to him ” In China and Japan, they are no longer using machines that emits smoke, leaving the people with health hazards instead they have smart machines, taking advantage of the climate.
” So we will be introducing smart industrial machines and have smart cities .Just look at Karu for instance, there are no linking road Network to ease traffic into the FCT.If you know the billions of naira we lost everyday as a result of manhour, simply because we don’t have enough Intercity roads, workers have to spent 4 hours from Karu to Abuja, which is as a result of bad governance, if elected come 2023, we will make the difference and restored manhour lost for more revenue to the state” Ombugadu said.
Earlier, the chairman publicity of the campaign council, Dr Mike Omiri, thanked journalists for honouring the invitation of the Ombugadu Campaign council, adding that it will be embarking on campaigns across the 13 LGAs of the state, which will be violence free and issue based campaigns, appealing to the press to support in informing the public on the PDP campaigns.
