MNJTF Troops Eliminate Top BOKO HARAM Commander, Amir Dumkei & Five Others in a Repel Attack in Chad
Koulfoua (Core Reporters) In one of the courageous and tactical operations in the recent times, troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), operating under Sector 2 at Koulfoua Island in the Region of Lake Chad on Tuesday, July 15, eliminated a top Boko Haram commander identified as Amir Dumkei, along with 5 other terrorists in a repelled vicious attack.

The operation, conducted near the bank of Koulfoua, dealt a significant blow to the terrorist groups, resulting in the elimination of a key Boko Haram commander Dumkei, along with 5 other terrorists. Additionally, 9 AK 47 rifles, 3 boats and a large cache of ammunition were recovered.
According to the statement the ISWAP/Boko Haram terrorists initiated their offensive in the early hours of Tuesday, attacking the MNJTF military base in Koulfoua Island. However, they were met with superior firepower from the MNJTF troops. Through intense artillery and coordinated fire power bombardments, the terrorist commander was neutralized along with five others, while the remaining terrorists fled with gunshot wounds. During the operation, the troops successfully captured a substantial cache of arms.

A statement said “currently, the troops are in pursuit of the fleeing terrorists, and clearance operations are ongoing to ensure the area is secure.”
The Force Commander of the MNJTF, Major General Godwin Mutkut, commended the troops for their unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of the people in the Lake Chad region
