As Mark D Ball Basketball championship entered day four today at the Indoor Sports Hall, Package B, MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, the chairman of Kaduna State Basketball Association, Scambo Morrison has hailed the organizers of the championship.
Marrison in an exclusive interview with Core Reporters in Abuja on Monday said it gladdens his heart that the Chief Executive Officer cum Initiator of the championship, Igoche Mark has continued to live up to expectations in his quest to restore the past glory of the game of basketball in Nigeria
He said he was not surprised to see the kind of organization put in place for the ongoing female basketball championship in Abuja. He noted that Mark has done well for the growth of basketball in Nigeria but insisted that the organization of the ongoing tournament is second to none in the history of female basketball in Nigeria.
“You can see that the organization is perfect. Now, the beauty of it is the exposure of the players, the signal that basketball is not yet dead in Nigeria, the publicity and the aura that comes with this kind of organization.
“The ability of the organizers to get the sponsors to key into this tournament is what is thrilling me most, despite the absence of basketball championship in the country for quite sometimes now, Mark and his team were able to convince them to sponsor the tournament, in fact, it goes to show the kind of leader Mark is,” he said.
However, day three results shows; Delta Force 40-25 City Sparks, IGP Queens 60-17 Taraba Hurricanes, Coal City Sizzlers 40-25 Novena, Nigeria Customs 24-6 Osun Pearls and Plateau Rocks 38-25 Nasarwa Amazons
Meanwhile, the tournament which dunked off last Saturday is expected to come to an end on Saturday.
Core Reporters report that the male championship will dunk off on Saturday at the Indoor Sports Hall of Package B of the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
