The Technical Adviser of Makurdi based Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side; Lobi Stars Kabiru Dogo has berated the t1-0 loss to Nasarawa United to a momentary loss of concentration when a goaltender mistimed a harmless jab to concede the only goal of the encounter.
Dogo insisted that his men played to the instruction but they were unlucky not to get goals, adding that points are what matters most in a comp[etition.
However, the Technical Adviser of Nasarawa United, Bala Nikyu stated that his side victory was from the eye of the needle, stressing that Lobi Stars are a good side any time any day.
Nikyu added that he knew the game was going to be tough but his men were equal to the task. According to him, they responded in the second half of the game and got the intended result, the result which has brought them back to the sixth position on the log.
“Lobi stars are a formidable side anyone knows that but my boys responded in the second half. and got the goal, that’s all. We’re back to the sixth position and that is how we wanted it,” Nikyu said.
Meanwhile, Lobi Stars dominated the playing with 55 to 45 points but 48 minutes Ikenna Ofor’s goal was what the home team needed to grab the maximum three points at stake.
The commissioner of sports and the director of sports of both states witnessed the match from the VIP stand at Lafia Township Stadium, Lafia.
