Lob Stars beat Plateau United in five-goal thrillers

Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi on Sunday defeated Plateau United 3-2 in their first game after the exit of their erstwhile vice-chairman, Mike Idoko.

Reacting after the five goals thrillers’ encounter in Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi, Emma Tergunyer Chouh (Lobi secretary), who is currently the sole administrator of the club pending the appointment of the new vice-chairman, said their victory was a well deserved one, adding that the victory has spoken for itself.

In another game played on Sunday the once crawling Abia Warriors FC of Umuahia are now in the driving seat in the fifteenth weeks-old Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), as they humbled their visitors Kano Pillars 4-1 in Umuahia.

Abia Warriors by this victory are placed in the tenth position on the log with 22 points in 15 games while Pillars are fifth on the log with 24 points same games.

Other games played over the weekend; Enugu Rangers, Dakkada and Wikki Tourists piped Adamawa United, Katsina United and Warri Wolves 1-0 respectively.

While table toppers, Kwara United, Sunshine Stars and Ifeanyi Ubah played a barren draw against Heartland FC, Nasarawa and Rivers United respectively.
