Kwara Utd, Rangers, others win, Enyimba record away draw

As week 13 of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) was played across the country over the weekend, the table toppers, Kwara United defeated Warri Wolves 2-0 and displaced Kano Pillars from the top of the log.

Kwara went into the game, one point behind Pillars who were topping the table with 23 points despite losing 2-3 to Dakkada FC in Uyo on Saturday, but after the final whistle in Ilorin Kwara leapfrog Pillars to the top of the log with 25 points in 13 games.

However, second-place Rangers International of Enugu overpowered Heartland FC of Owerri with 2 unreplied goals and second on the log with 23 points in 13 games.

Akwa United humbled Rivers United 3-0 in Uyo, Lobi Stars got a 2-1 defeat to hard fighting Katsina United. Lobi waited until the last minute before they got the winning goal in a match that almost everybody had concluded was going to be drawn.

In other games played; Ifeanyi Ubah was held to a barren draw by visiting Plateau United, while in fourth place Enyimba held hard to crack Jigawa Golden Star to another barren draw to maintain the fourth position on the log with 23 points in eleventh games.
