As the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) gathered momentum over the weekend, Kwara United recorded one of the biggest win of the week, same with Heartland FC of Owerri as they defeated their hosts in the week nine encounters of the ongoing 2020/21 NPFL.
Kwara United defeated Sunshine Stars 2-1 in Akure to move to second position on the log with 18 points in ninth games. Meanwhile, Heartland also defeated MFM 2-1 in Lagos and moved a step closer to the Lagos based NPFL side. MFM sit at fourteenth on the log with ten points in nine games while, Heartland sit at fifteenth with ten points in nine games.
Enugu Rangers piped Warri Wolves 1-0 on Sunday, while Akwa United had a feast on their visitors, Katsina United as they humbled them with 3-0 in Uyo. Also Jigawa Golden Stars piped Adamawa United 1-0 while Wikki Tourists held Lobi Stars to a barren draw in Makurdi.
However, Enyimba FC of Aba are comfortably sitting at the top of the log with 21 points in nine games.
