As the 2023 general elections draw near, a non governmental organization, Hopealive Enlightenment and Empowerment-Kpamkwase Foundation on Tuesday engaged in sensitisation of residents of Angwan Dadi area of Nyanya, Abuja, on the need to participate in the forth coming election.
The key note speaker, Mr. Raphael Ekpang, former chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists FCT Correspondents Chapel and Editor in Chief, Core Reporters said, 2023 general elections is a significant milestone in Nigeria’s journey towards consolidating our democracy. He noted that the election will be the first under the new Electoral Act with its unique amendments that include the deployment of new technologies during the voting process.
He said, the election will also throw in new political leaderships at the national level and in more than 15 states, adding that the election comes at a time when Nigeria continues to face huge human rights challenges, ranging from insecurity to weak law enforcement, poverty and inequalities.

According to him, “This is the right time for us Nigerians to address some of these ills around us, through the electioneering process, therefore, I urged all of you to go get your PVC and be ready to vote out bad leaders in our society.”
However, the founder of Kpamkwase foundation, Mrs Esther Chiakor said, it is hard times Nigerians start using their PVC wisely, noting that we can not continue in this present situation we found ourselves as a nation.
She said, “We have come here today (Tuesday) not only to enlighten you about the forth coming general election but, we’ve come here also to empower you so that by the time you start seeing them (politicians) coming your ways with these kind of things to deceive you to vote for them even when you are convince they are not real, you should be able to say no to them.
“We must not again entrust the future of our children into the hands of those who don’t care about us and who are coming into power just for their selfish interests” she said.
Meanwhile, the highlights of the event was the presentation of clothing and food items to the teeming residents of Angwan Dadi in Nyanya, Abuja, FCT.
