Amid ongoing efforts to strengthen democratic governance in Nigeria and reposition the economy, the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to protecting lives, safeguarding livelihoods, and ensuring the delivery of tangible dividends of democracy to Nigerians.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, stated this on Saturday while speaking as a guest on Radio Link, a Radio Nigeria public participation programme, held as part of citizens’ engagement activities marking 27 years of uninterrupted democratic governance and the third anniversary of the Tinubu Administration.
The Minister said that while the administration acknowledges the security challenges in some parts of the country, it is continuously applying decisive measures to neutralise threats, restore peace, and create a secure environment where citizens can live, work, and prosper.
On the economy, he expressed confidence that the ongoing bold reforms of the administration were beginning to yield positive results, with key indicators pointing toward recovery, stability, and sustainable growth.
He described June 12 as more than a date in Nigeria’s history, noting that it stands as a powerful symbol of democratic resilience, courage, and the collective aspiration for accountable governance.
The Minister further urged Nigerians to uphold the enduring values of transparency, patriotism, and national unity which the day represents.
During the one-hour programme, callers commended the efforts of the Tinubu-led administration, while others called on the government to do more in addressing insecurity, stabilising the economy, and ensuring credible elections.
