Indigenous Ethnic Youth Leaders of Nigeria will on September 29, 2021 meet in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja to chat a way forward for the indigenous ethnic nationalities of Nigeria.
In a press statement made available to Core Reporters on Friday in Abuja and signed by its National Chairman, Comrade Gonet Nensok, the group said the happenings in Nigeria have risen to their crescendo hence the need for ethnic youth leaders to meet and chat a way forward for Indigenous Ethnic Nationalities in the country.
The statement lamented the ongoing killing and maiming of Nigerians across the 36 states of the federation without a solution on sight rather the citizens are becoming more vulnerable to their attackers.
The statement read in parts, “It has never been this bad in the history of Nigeria, where every region is clamouring for secession and restructuring. Unfortunately, the country’s leadership at the moment lacks the will to manage the situation amicably.
“Our communities are being ransacked on daily basis and our people being killed by Fulani militias. However, the presidency claimed they are foreigners, yet lacks the will to defend its citizens against foreign aggression.
“By this, we are scheduled to meet for our national submit on the 29th of this month in Abuja to discuss the way forward for indigenous Ethnic nationalities of Nigeria, for posterity to judge us right as youth leaders of this time.
“Our little voices MUST be heard. This country is the only nation we have and can call our own. I urge all Ethnic youth Presidents to attend the summit because we must make our leaders know our position on what is happening to our people on daily basis. Enough is enough,” the statement said.
Recalled Nigeria is made up of several ethnic nationalities and the coming together of all the leaders under the umbrella of Indigenous Ethnic Youth leaders of Nigeria (IEYLN) may signal the good things to come in the country.
