Despite Lobi Stars 2-1 victory over Katsina United at the week 13 tie of the ongoing 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season,  fans of Lobi stars carried out Mike Idoko MUST GO  protest in and around the  Makurdi Township stadium, the venue for the encounter.

Core Reporters reported that most of the fans who were seen at the stadium were not happy with the way the club’s vice-chairman (Mike Idoko is handling the affairs of the club, accusing him of adopting a divide and rule tactics which they said was not uniting the stakeholders, management, players and fans of the club.

Some of the stakeholders and fans who spoke with Core Reporters in Makurdi shortly after the which saw Lobi defeated their Katsina United 2-1 with the winning scored at the last minute of the encounter said, Lobi would have been doing better than the way they are doing now but except for the way and manner the club vice-chairman, Idoko is relating with stakeholders of the club.

Isaac Terngu alleged that since Idoko took over as the vice-chairman of the club in 2015, they no longer have a saying nor receive a brief from him rather he has been using a divide and rule approach to lead the club, a situation lot of them are no longer happy with his style of leadership.

Terngu also accused him of ethnic jingoism, alleging that staff of Tiv extraction in Lobi are not well taken care of, saying that they are like second fiddles to their Idoma’s colleagues.

Meanwhile, Peter Oche told this reporter that the problem with Idoko is not that he is favouring only Idoma people but he alleged that he is a perfect master of divide and rule, adding that Idoko is using both Tiv and Idoma people against themselves.

“Why we don’t want Idoko again is because we no longer understand him, a lot of things are happening in the club but he will keep it to himself,  he doesn’t even care of his own staff, players not to talk of us who are mere fans,” Oche said.
