Nigeria (Core Reporters) the much awaited House of Representatives inaugural Legislative Open Week shall commence on Wednesday July 3, 2024, and ends on Friday July 5, 2024.
The 10th House of Representatives Legislative Open Week with the Themed “Improving Inclusion through Citizens Engagement,” is aimed at promoting an open parliament and enhance citizens’ participation, in alignment with Agenda 6 of the People’s House Legislative Agenda.
“As we commemorate 25 years of uninterrupted democracy in Nigeria, the Legislative Open Week provides a platform for reflection and forward planning.”
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; will grace the occasion as the Special Guest of Honour, while Senate President Godswill Akpabio,
CON. is the Guest of Honour: alll state Governors, diplomats, stakeholders, and citizens are invited. And the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD. is the Chief Host.
“This Open Week is a significant step towards strengthening our democracy by enhancing citizens participation in the legislative process,” Speaker Abbas remarked in a statement heralding the event.
