By Our Correspondent
A group known as the Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Peace, Security, Good Governance, Equity and Justice has warned those they called detractors to stop campaign of calumny against the acting Clerk of the National Assembly, Sani Magaji Tambuwal.
According to a statement made available to Core Reporters, on Tuesday, signed by its national coordinator Comrade James Okoronkwo, the group alleged that the public affairs analyst, Haruna Abdulsalam Mohammed is fake and faceless therefore, should be disregarded.
The statement reads, “The attention of the Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Peace, Security, Good Governance, Equity and Justice has been drawn to the baseless campaign of calumny against the appointment of Mr Sani Magaji Tambuwal as the Acting Clerk to the National Assembly by the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) by a fake public affairs analyst called Haruna Abdulsalam Mohammed.” It has become the past-time of disgruntled unqualified public servants to throw muck at their successful colleagues.
However,  the group  said, the appointment of Mr Sani Magaji Tambuwal followed due process  and is in full compliance of the relevant sections of the National Assembly Service Commission Act 2014 and the Organogram of the National Assembly bureaucracy. He said according to to the act 2014 and NASas organogram,  Tambuwal is the most senior, experienced and transparent officer in the National Assembly managerial hierarchy, therefore, he’s eminently qualified for his appointment as the Acting Clerk to the National Assembly.
Continuing, the group recalled that Mr. Sani Magaji Tambuwal as Director of Budget several years ago received accolades for his innovation in opening up the National Assembly budget process saying that “he has the credentials, patriotism, humanity and transparency to pilot the affairs of the NASS management.
As the conscience of the nation, Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Peace, Security, Good Governance, Equity and Justice commends the NASC for Mr. Sani Magaji Tambuwal’s well- deserved appointment as the Acting Clerk to The National Assembly as it is in conformity and alliance with the relevant sections of the National Assembly Service Commission Act 2014. “At this juncture, we urge the authorities and the general public to discountenance the negative propaganda against him as it is borne out of envy and malice. We appeal to the National Assembly senior management to avoid rancor and join hands with him and the outgoing Clerk (CNA) to deliver the Appropriation Bill on schedule.
