The governor of Kaduna State and his Osun State counterpart, Senator Ubah Sani and Ademola Adeleke have both hailed the appointments of Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa as the new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Major General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja as Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Adewale Bashir Adeniyi as the Acting Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Customs Service by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Gov Ubah Sani said, the appointment of Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa as the CDS is well-deserved by an illustrious son of the state, congratulating Musa for the appointment.
Senator Sani in a personal statement, said, “I wish to congratulate our dear brother and citizen, Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa, on his well-deserved appointment as the Chief of Defence Staff.”
He said, Musa is a worthy Ambassador of Kaduna State, having had a distinguished military career and held many strategic positions, including Theatre Commander, Operation Hadin Kai.
He noted that President Tinubu has always shown solidarity with Kaduna and its people, assuring that they would provide Mr President with all the support needed to take the nation to greater heights.
In the same vein, Gov. Adeleke of Osun State stated that the appointments of Major General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja as Chief of Army Staff, COAS; and Adewale Bashir Adeniyi as the Acting Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Customs Service was a recognition of capacity and outstanding track records of the duo
The Governor assured the two agency heads of his government’s support and cooperation, noting that his prayer is to see Osun indigenes excel in their respective endeavours.
While welcoming the elevation of the two indigenes of the State as a great honour, Adeleke appreciated President Bola Tinubu for trusting the duo with important roles.
Adeleke said General Lagbaja and CG Adeniyi are the pride of the state and expressed strong belief in their capacity to deliver on their assigned mandates.
“The two agency heads are thoroughbred professionals. The records of General Lagbaja and Mr Adeniyi in their respective services are assuring that they will take their organizations to greater levels of efficiency and optimal performance in the discharge of their constitutional duties,” he said
