Gov. Bala Muhammed Appoints 168 Additional Aides
Bauchi (Core Reporters) Governor Bala Muhammed of Bauchi State has approved the appointment of 168 political aides, according to a statement signed by his spokesman, Mukhtar Gidado on Tuesday.
The release said the appointments of the new aides are aimed at “ensuring greater inclusion, enhancing service delivery, and fostering a government that reflects the diverse interests and aspirations of the people of Bauchi.”
The appointees include 63 personal assistants, 60 senior special assistants, and 38 special assistants focused on political and community relations.
Others are five principal special assistants in political and community relations, one principal special assistant on pension matters, and one senior special assistant on labour matters.
Gidado noted that the aides were selected “based on merit, proven experience, political background and leadership capabilities.”
“They are expected to inject fresh energy into the administration and support the governor’s vision of a more responsive and effective government,” the statement added.
Governor Muhammed, while addressing the appointees, urged them to take their responsibilities seriously and to prioritise the welfare of the people.
“The governor urged them to see their appointments as a call to greater service while emphasising the need for dedication, loyalty, and a people-centred approach to governance,” the statement said.
“This is because the administration is intensifying efforts to deliver more democratic dividends to the good people of Bauchi state.”
The appointments add to the growing number of officials serving in the current administration, sparking conversations about governance style and administrative efficiency in the state.
