Galaxy Backbone Pledges Improved Digital Services, Unveils Lagos Data Centre
Abuja (Core Reporters) — Galaxy Backbone Limited (GBB) has reaffirmed its commitment to improving customer experience and service delivery, announcing a new data centre facility in Lagos to strengthen data sovereignty and enhance the resilience of its digital infrastructure.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Backbone, Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju, disclosed this during a breakfast engagement held on Friday, October 9, 2026, to commemorate Customer Service Week 2026 under the theme, “Going the Extra Mile.”
Adeyanju said the new facility would expand the organisation’s capacity to meet customers’ growing digital needs, build confidence in its services and support Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.
He described customers as central to the organisation’s operations and growth, noting that their expectations, feedback and trust continued to shape its commitment to service excellence.
According to him, going the extra mile involves more than providing digital infrastructure, as it also requires prompt and effective support, particularly when technical challenges arise.
He acknowledged the contributions of the organisation’s engineers, operations teams and customer-facing personnel, who work beyond routine expectations to resolve technical issues, maintain service standards and address customer concerns.
The GBB chief executive said customer engagements over the past three years had provided valuable insights into service gaps, enabling the organisation to improve operational processes and strengthen service quality.
He noted that public sector institutions depended on Galaxy Backbone’s critical digital infrastructure to support government operations, while private sector partners continued to challenge the organisation to innovate and respond to evolving needs.
Adeyanju urged customers and partners to sustain constructive engagement with the organisation, stressing that honest feedback remained essential to identifying shortcomings, driving innovation and improving service delivery.
He assured stakeholders that customer satisfaction would remain a priority beyond the annual celebration.
Earlier, the welcome address of the Executive Director, Customer Centricity and Marketing, Olusegun Olulade, was delivered on his behalf by the Group Head of Human Resources, Olugbenga Omoniyi.
Olulade described customer centricity as a core organisational value rather than merely a theme for the annual celebration, arguing that technology, infrastructure and digital solutions could only deliver meaningful results when they addressed real challenges and created value for users.
He highlighted GovMail, 1Gov Cloud and the Government Service Portal (GSP) as key platforms through which Galaxy Backbone supports Nigeria’s digital sovereignty, the secure management of government digital assets and improved public service delivery.
“Ultimately, customer centricity is not just about saying that the customer is important, but most importantly, it’s about making decisions every day that demonstrate that the customers truly matter,” he said.
The breakfast engagement brought together customers and partners to share experiences, raise concerns, discuss service delivery challenges and recommend practical measures for improving customer satisfaction.
The interactive session highlighted the importance of collaboration and open communication in strengthening relationships and ensuring that services respond effectively to stakeholders’ changing needs.
