Abuja (Core Reporters) The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter has congratulated Mallam Shehu Dikko, the immediate past chairman of the League Management Company (LMC) on his well-deserved appointment as the Chairman of the reestablished National Sports Commission (NSC).
Consequently, FCT SWAN believes his appointment is a testament to his unwavering commitment to sports development in Nigeria, and is confident he will deliver transformative leadership in this new role.
In a press statement jointly signed by Chairman Kelechi Onwudiwe and Secretary Samuel Ahmadu on Wednesday, FCT SWAN commends the insightful decision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint Mallam Dikko, recognizing it as the placement of a round peg in a round hole.
The statement reads, “Mallam Dikko’s extensive experience and innovative vision make him the ideal choice to lead the National Sports Commission into a new era,” said Chairman Onwudiwe.
“We also acknowledged Dikko’s significant support and contributions to the reunification of SWAN and his involvement in several key activities within the association.
“We are grateful for his enduring support to sports journalism and his efforts to foster unity within the association,” further remarked the Chairman,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, before his appointment, Dikko also served as the Second Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
