Ahead of the proposed Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF)’s election directed by the ministry of youth and sports development to hold in Abuja on Monday, desperate former NBBF President Musa Kida and his cohorts have ran to a court in Benin, Edo State capital seeking for an injunction to stop Nigerian Basketball Players Association from according to them interrupting in their purported process of illegal NBBF election in Benin on Monday.

In a purported suit no: 13/52/222 between Engr. Musa Kida, Victor Umoru as claimant and Skambo Morrison, Igoche Mark, Mr. Stanley Gumut and Mr. Ejike Ugbuaja as respondents, the embattled Kida apply to the high court of Edo State of Nigeria in the Benin Judicial division holden at Benin City an order of interlocutory injunction the defendant/respondent, by themselves, their servants, agents, workers/ any or privies or themselves however for interfering or obstructing the process (es) leading to the Nigeria Basketball Federation 9NBBF) election to be held on the 31st day of January 2022 at Benin City, Edo State,” the statement reads.
Meanwhile, a sports journalist, Silvanus Ofekun told Core Reporters that he was surprised, the embattled former NBBF president; Kida could be that desperate war against basketball players in Nigeria.
He advised Kida to give peace a chance while saying that the game is over.
“I wonder why Kida and his men are running from one pillar to another; if they said they are the genuine basketball stakeholders in Nigeria let them follow the genuine process of conducting the election and also they should come to Abuja as directed by the ministry of sports for the election.
“As for the attempted court injunction, that has really shown the desperation in Kida to grab power by all means, but unfortunately the game is over,” he boasted.
Meanwhile, when Core Reporters made attempt to speak with Ejike Ugboaja and Igoche Mark, both of them said, Nigerians will now know the true stakeholders of the game of basketball. Meanwhile, they added, “We are watching.”
