Nigeria Senate President, Senator Dr. Ahmad Lawan has debunked the insinuations that both chambers of the National Assembly have tempered with the report of the committees on Independent National Electoral Committee (INEC), saying that his mobile phone line was bombarded with over nine hundred text messages accusing the leadership of the NASS of tempering with the report.
Lawan made this known on Wednesday when the Senator Committee Chairman on INEC, Senator Kabiru Gaya laid the Committee’s report before the senators during the plenary.
Lawan accused those peddling the remorse of been mischief and while calling on Nigerians to disregarded such remorse.
“Those who are saying the leadership of the National Assembly have tempered with the report of the Committee on INEC are simply mischievous.
“This is the report of the Senate Committee on INEC that has just been laid here today (Wednesday and anything the Senate will discuss the report will be based on what the Committee has laid here today.” He said.
