The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Kaduna State governorship candidate, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi has called on residents of Kaduna and Nigerians as a whole to ignore the call by the outgoing Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai to disregard Federal Government’s directive on the Naira swap:
Senator Hunkuyi who is the Kaduna State New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPL)Governorship Candidate for March 11 General Election said though he is not happy with the hardship the new naira policy has caused Nigerians, he appealed to the people in Kaduna and entire Nigeria to ignore El-Rufai’s call for incitement against the Federal Government because he lacks legal and moral right to do so.
Hunkuyi who made the statement while addressing crowd of NNPP supporters in Sabo, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna on Friday said he was surprised to hear El-Rufai that has brought untold hardship to the people of Kaduna State through his anti-people’s policies will be calling on the same people at the eve of general election to disregard FG directive on Naira swap on account of pain and hardship it is causing.
“This is the same El-Rufai who has brought untold pains and hardship to the people of Kaduna State through his anti-people’s policies
El-Rufai has arbitrarily revoked several plots of land, demolished people’s houses and shops without compensations. Sacked traditional rulers and teachers without gratuity. He Increased school fees of state own tertiary institutions to unbearable level.
“Why should El-Rufai have the courage to be telling the people to disregard and disrespect Federal Government’s policy and thereby causing additional security challenges? We are running federal system of government and Kaduna State remains a component unit, part and parcel of the Federal Government of Nigeria. So El-Rufai’s call should be disregarded as the call is not out of sincere heart and does not mean well for the people of Kaduna and entire Nigeria,” Senator Hunkuyi said.
Hunkuyi promised that if elected Governor of the state, he will review and revise most of El-Rufai policies which he tagged as anti-people.
Hunkuyi said he will restore the sacked traditional rulers as they are instrumental to the maintenance and sustenance of peace and harmony in the society; give free education at primary and secondary schools level and reduce school fees of state owned tertiary institutions as well as restore the sacked teachers
