DHQ Set For a March With Armed Forces, Security Agencies

Abuja (Core Reporters) The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) will on Friday, October 10, embark on a route march which is a routine physical fitness exercise aimed at promoting synergy, physical readiness, and esprit de corps among personnel of the Armed Forces and other security agencies.

The march which will commence at 5:00 a.m on Friday will take off from Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment football field to Mambilla Barracks and return to the cantonment through Niger Barracks.

According to a statement by the Director Defence Information. Brihadier General Tukur Gusau, “The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) wishes to inform the general public that the Armed Forces and Security Agencies will conduct a Route March Exercise on Friday, 10 October 2025, commencing at 5:00 a.m.

“The exercise will take off from Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment football field to Mambilla Barracks and return to the cantonment through Niger Barracks. The Route March is a routine physical fitness exercise aimed at promoting synergy, physical readiness, and esprit de corps among personnel of the Armed Forces and other security agencies.

“Accordingly, members of the public, particularly road users within the Asokoro–AYA axis, are hereby notified and advised to use alternative routes as may be directed by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other traffic management authorities, who will be on ground to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.

“The Defence Headquarters regrets any inconvenience the temporary diversion may cause and appreciates the understanding and cooperation of the general public.”
