The Minister of Sports Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh has called on Nigerians in all walks of life the lean their, support and encourage the current government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in its steadfast commitment to make Nigeria a better place for all of us.

The former Senate Committee chairman on Finance in the 8th assembly made the call on Wednesday in his June 12 (Democracy Day) message to Nigerians

He said, the recognition of June 12 as Democracy Day serves as a poignant reminder of the significant sacrifices made by ordinary Nigerians and heroes of our democracy to ensure the thriving of democracy in our country.

According to him, “On this special occasion of celebrating this year’s Democracy Day, I want to remind Nigerians that a strong democracy is not built in a day. It is constructed through the sacrifice, steadfastness, courage, patriotism, and commitment of our fellow countrymen and women, including political leaders, ordinary citizens, and leaders of various professions.

“Therefore, I urge all citizens to come together to build a present and future that works well for all of us. We must spare no effort until we achieve the ultimate goal that will unleash the democratic ideal and bring forth the great possibilities held back by decades of missed opportunities and uninspiring leadership.

“Like people around the world, the average Nigerian citizen desires peace, improved quality of life, and a society that meets their basic needs and ensures that no one is left behind. They yearn for a kinder society in which, despite our differences, we can grow together as valuable partners of a great union. Democracy is the most secure path to achieve this noble vision.

“On this revered day, I call on my fellow citizens, especially those in leadership positions in the executive, judicial, and legislative branches of government, as well as ordinary citizens, to recommit themselves to strengthening the foundations of our democracy by defending our democratic institutions. This commitment will help secure our present and future. The current administration led by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, has made firm commitments in this regard. Let us, therefore, support and encourage the current government in its steadfast commitment to make Nigeria a better place for all of us,” he said.
