Port Harcourt (Core Reporters) As reactions continued to trail October 5, Rivers State local government elections, a coalition of Civil Society Organisations have described the elections as a charade.
According to a report by the CSOs which was made available to Core Reporters, indicated that there was no election in Ward 5 Obio/Akpor. This according to the report was to respect Fed High Court verdict by the constituents
Recall that there was a Federal High Court Abuja’s order restraining the Governor of Rivers State from conducting any LG election on October 5.
But, despite the verdict, governor Siminalayi Fubara went ahead to conduct the election with empty wards and units.
As captured in a video sighted by this reporter Ward 5 is the House of Representatives Minority Caucus Leader, Rep Kingsley Chinda’s Ward. Notwithstanding, RSIEC still went ahead and declared APP winner of the stage managed election.
The video clearly depicts ghost-like units and even the Collation Centre looked like an abandoned house in broad daylight.
Meanwhile, credible CSOs have declared that the entire electoral process lacked credibility.
