The Cross River Indigenes Development Association (CRIDA), Abuja, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his exemplary leadership anchored on fairness, justice and national inclusion, following his magnanimous reinstatement and promotion of Mrs. Marilyn Ogar, former Spokesperson of the Department of State Services (DSS).
The association’s President, Chief Sankara Dickson Unung, described the President’s actions as “a powerful demonstration of justice and reward for merit, values that resonate deeply with the people of Cross River State.”
Chief Sankara noted that Mrs. Ogar, a distinguished daughter of Cross River State and member of CRIDA, “served the nation with integrity, courage and professionalism as the face of the DSS” before her unjust disengagement nearly a decade ago. Her reinstatement, he said, “is a triumph of truth and faith, a testimony that justice can be delayed but never denied.
The CRIDA President emphasized that President Tinubu’s action is not an isolated event but part of a consistent pattern of fairness and national reconciliation.
“We recalled, with deep appreciation, President Tinubu’s gracious intervention in clearing and restoring the honour of our illustrious son, Hon. Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen, former Chief Justice of Nigeria, from Cross River State, a man who served this nation at the highest level of judicial excellence,” Chief Unung stated.
He also commended the President for recognizing and promoting another Cross River son, Lt. Gen. Emmanuel Akomaye Parker Undiandeye, who was recently reappointed as Chief of Defence Intelligence, a position earned through years of exceptional service, discipline and strategic leadership in national security.
“The President’s promotion of Lt. Gen. Undiandeye is another remarkable blessing and testament to the integrity, hard work, and dedication to national development for which Cross River sons and daughters are known,” he added.
Chief Unung further extended appreciation to the Director-General of the DSS, Mr. Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, for his cooperation in facilitating Mrs. Ogar’s reinstatement. He congratulated Mrs. Ogar for her steadfast faith and resilience, describing her as “a symbol of hope and honour for Cross Riverians and Nigerian women.”
“CRIDA stands solidly behind President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” Chief Unung affirmed. “We see in his leadership a new dawn of justice, merit and inclusion for all Nigerians. We pledge our continued support for his administration and our commitment to national peace, unity and development.”
“We pray for continued success of President Tinubu’s administration and blessings upon all Cross River indigenes serving the nation with distinction.”
