CP Ordue Presents Cheques of ₦13.75m to Families of 17 Fallen Personnel

Calabar (Core Reporters) – The Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Command, CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue, has presented 17 Group Life Assurance cheques valued at ₦13,753,885.36 to beneficiaries of deceased personnel of the Command.

The presentation was held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the Command Headquarters in Calabar, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, following the IGP’s approval of the payments to the families of the deceased officers.

Speaking during the presentation, CP Ordue expressed appreciation to the IGP for approving the payments, describing the gesture as an indication of the Nigeria Police Force’s continued commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families.

The Commissioner acknowledged the sacrifices made by the fallen personnel, noting that while no financial assistance could compensate for the loss of a loved one, the payment would provide meaningful support to the bereaved families.

He said the gesture also reassured serving personnel that their sacrifices and welfare remain a priority within the Force.

CP Ordue urged the beneficiaries to utilise the funds judiciously and assured them of the Command’s continued support.

He also charged officers and men of the Command to remain committed to their duties, uphold professionalism and serve with courage, discipline and integrity.

The Commissioner commended the families of the deceased personnel for their resilience and sacrifices, assuring them that the Police Force would continue to recognise and honour the contributions of their loved ones to national security.

He reiterated the Command’s commitment to personnel welfare, describing it as an important component of effective policing.
