The contractor handling Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano(AKK) Gas Pipeline Project Brentex CPP Limited has assured that the $2.8Billion worth project will be delivered in May,2025.
Chairman of Brentex CPP Limited, Sani Abubakar gave this assurance at interactive session with the Senate Committee on Local Content Chaired by Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan(Kogi Central), on Tuesday 16 July, 2024. The interactive session with the contractor handling the project is held to ascertain the level of execution.
In his submission to the Committee , Sani Abubakar assured the Committee that, the contract will be completed and delivered to the Federal Government latest May 2025.
According to him, the perceived delay in the execution of the $1.27 Billion component of the contract is the attempt being made by Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited(NNPCL) to “descope that component of the contract”, he posited
Giving more insight, he said that, NNPCL had written to them that they are descoping the $1.27Billion Stations(TGS)component of the contract and they have been in discussion with them for the past eighteen months about the issue.
The Brentex CPP Ltd Boss hinted that barring the descoping issue with NNPCL, his company is set to deliver the project within the stated time frame
The Senate Committee thereafter called for all correspondence between the Brentex CPP Ltd and NNPCL to be submitted so as to chart the way forward
