CNS Male Volleyball Spikers Team Wins 2025 National Volleyball Super Cup Tournament
Abuja (Core Reporters) The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Male Volleyball Spikers Team has emerged champions of the 2025 National Volleyball Super Cup Tournament, following a thrilling victory over the Nigeria Customs Service team at the Moshood Abiola Indoor Stadium, Abuja, on Saturday, February 7, 2026.
The National Volleyball Super Cup Tournament is organised annually to identify the best club team in Nigeria at the end of the regular volleyball league season. It also serves to promote excellence, competitiveness, and the overall development of volleyball in the country, while providing a platform for assessing players for future national team selection.

The CNS Volleyball Spikers sustained their outstanding form, coming on the heels of their back-to-back victories in the 2024 and 2025 National Volleyball Premier League seasons, during which several team members also received individual honours.
Their triumph in the just-concluded 2025 Premier League season earned them qualification as one of the six top teams that competed in the Super Cup tournament held from 31 January to 8 February 2026 at the Moshood Abiola Indoor Stadium.
In the female category, the CNS Female Volleyball Spikers Team also delivered an impressive performance, securing the bronze medal after finishing third behind the Chief of Army Staff Female Volleyball Team.
The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas has congratulated the team for an exceptional outing, marked by the successful defence of their league title for the second consecutive year and the swift capture of the Super Cup trophy.
He described the achievement as a reflection of the team’s resilience, discipline, sound preparation, and strong winning mentality, noting that the Spikers have continued to represent the Nigerian Navy with distinction while setting a benchmark for professionalism, competitiveness, and sportsmanship.
While celebrating the team’s remarkable success, the CNS urged the players not to rest on their laurels, reminding them that sustained victory comes with higher expectations and greater responsibility. He reaffirmed his commitment to continued support for the team, particularly in the areas of player development and coaching excellence.
The CNS Volleyball Spikers’ victory further underscores the importance the Nigerian Navy places on sports as a means of keeping personnel physically fit, motivated, and prepared to safeguard Nigeria’s maritime interests, in line with the CNS mission.
