Breaking: Former Senate President Mark Commends ADC NPS Bolaji For His Intergrity, Patriotism

Abuja (Core Reporters) Nigeria former Senate president, and national chairman, African Democratic Congress (ADC) Senator David Mark has commended the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi for his integrity, patriotism, and commitment to Nigeria’s long-term development, describing him as a true Omoluabi — a person of character, honesty, and responsibility.
Speaking at the launch of Abdullahi’s book, “The Loyalist, the former lawmaker recounted an encounter during a Senate engagement where Abdullahi introduced himself and outlined his background with clarity and confidence. According to him, the depth of character Abdullahi displayed made further questioning unnecessary.
According to Mark, “I had occasions to disagree with him, but he stood his ground firmly and honestly,” he said. “In fact, by the end of our discussions, I found myself taking his advice instead of holding on to my original position. That, to me, is true loyalty — the courage to tell the truth regardless of how uncomfortable it may be.”
The ADC national Chairman described Abdullahi as a rare example of a young Nigerian who prioritises national interest over immediate personal gain, noting that his outlook is driven by long-term benefits for the country rather than short-term advantages.
The former Senate leader praised “The Loyalist” as an engaging and insightful book, saying that although he had not studied it in detail, his review of several sections revealed a thoughtful and patriotic contribution to national discourse.
He also clarified that the doctrine of necessity discussed in the book was solely the decision and responsibility of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria at the time, stressing that no state government or external entity influenced the process in any form.
He concluded by thanking the organisers of the event, welcoming guests to the book launch, and commending Mrs. Bolaji Abdullahi for her support, which he said enabled the author to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s political and intellectual development.
