The Senator representing Benue North East Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Emmanuel Memga Udende, mobilised party members across the district in a massive show of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the APC presidential primary election.
Addressing supporters at the Ukum Local Government Headquarters in Sankera, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes said President Tinubu had done so much for Benue State and Nigeria generally.
Sen. Udende highlighted achievements in infrastructure development, economic reforms, and the appointment of Benue indigenes into key positions in the current administration.
“For the first time in the history of Benue State, we have our own Sen. George Akume as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). We also have a Grade A Minister from Benue State, the Chairman of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), among several other federal appointments. We must collectively give the President another opportunity to continue his good policies,” Udende stated.
The lawmaker, however, expressed dissatisfaction with the conduct of the immediate past APC National Assembly primaries, alleging that some individuals manufactured results in guest houses and private residences instead of the designated council ward headquarters.
According to him, such actions were unacceptable, insisting that some of the disputed results would not stand.
The “Ikuen I Ukum” also appreciated the people of Ukum and the entire Benue North East Senatorial District for turning out massively to vote for President Tinubu. He assured supporters that their trust and support for the President and the APC would not be in vain.
Also speaking, the member representing Ukum State Constituency at the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Engr. Ezra Nyiyongo, urged party members to continue supporting their leaders and remain committed to President Tinubu ahead of the forthcoming presidential and National Assembly general elections.
While Senator Udende led party members to vote at his Tsaav Council Ward headquarters in Afia, Hon. Ezra Nyiyongo was sighted at Melabu in Mbayenge Council Ward during the exercise.
