In a statement issued on Wednesday, Bankole described the endorsement of the governor by leaders, stakeholders, and party faithful across Ogun East as a well deserved recognition of his impactful leadership and unwavering commitment to the growth and unity of the party.

He noted that the unanimous decision by a broad spectrum of party stakeholders reflects the deep trust and confidence reposed in Governor Abiodun’s capacity to represent the district effectively at the National Assembly.

According to him, the governor’s track record in office has been defined by strategic infrastructure development, economic expansion, and deliberate policies aimed at improving the welfare of the people of Ogun State.

He further highlighted that under Abiodun’s leadership, the state has witnessed significant transformation in critical sectors, including road construction, education, healthcare delivery, and industrial growth, positioning Ogun as a leading investment destination in Nigeria.

Bankole also pointed to the governor’s commitment to inclusive governance, noting that his administration has fostered unity across political, ethnic, and socio economic divides, while strengthening grassroots participation in governance.

He added that beyond his achievements at the state level, Governor Abiodun has played key roles in advancing national development conversations, contributing meaningfully to policy direction within the party and supporting the broader objectives of the current administration.

The APC chieftain emphasised that the governor’s experience in public service, combined with his background in the private sector, places him in a strong position to offer quality representation and effective legislative input at the Senate.

He expressed confidence that Abiodun’s transition to the National Assembly would further enhance the voice of Ogun East and attract greater federal presence and development to the district.

Bankole described the consensus arrangement as a reflection of internal cohesion within the party, stressing that such unity is critical to sustaining electoral success and strengthening democratic ideals.

He commended stakeholders across Ogun East for prioritising collective interest over personal ambition, noting that their decision sets a positive example for political collaboration and maturity.

The APC leader also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the governor’s senatorial ambition, pledging to mobilise support across party structures to ensure a successful outing at the polls.

He expressed optimism that the endorsement marks the beginning of a new phase of service for Governor Abiodun, one that will extend his development oriented leadership to the national stage.

Bankole further prayed for continued wisdom, strength, and guidance for the governor as he prepares for the task ahead, urging party members and supporters to remain united and focused.

He concluded by stating that the emergence of Governor Abiodun as consensus candidate reinforces the APC’s resolve to present credible and experienced leaders capable of delivering democratic dividends to Nigerians.
