Weightlifting duo of Rafiatu Folashade Lawal and Adijat Adenike Olarinoye will on Monday evening begin Nigeria’s hunt for gold and silver medals when they compete in the 59kg women’s category at the ongoing 2024 Africa Senior Weightlifting Championship, in Egypt.
Both lifters won three Gold and three silver medals respectively during the May, 2023 edition in Tunisia.
The Championship which also serves as Paris 2024 qualifiers began on Sunday with opening ceremony.
A statement by the media officer of the Nigeria Weightlifting Federation (NWF) Amaechi Agbo, says Lawal and Adenike will compete on Monday by 4pm Nigeria time.
