By Our Correspondent

August 26, barely eleven days today, armed robbers struck at Spotlight garden at Wuye district of Abuja and robbed members of the Likeminds FC who were in a meeting and killed one of them, a Department of State Security officer, Ajewole Olumide Oluwanifemi in the process.

The late Oluwanifemi, who after closed from his office stopped over for an EXCO meeting of the Likeminds FC at the garden (playground) was met with his untimely death after men of the underworld invaded the garden for their nefarious activities.

However, the plot of land belongs to the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja and it is managed by the Likeminds FC, an offshoot of the Catholic Men Organisation (CMO) of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish Utako, Abuja.

Core Reporters learn that the garden which served as the playground to Likeminds FC was demolished by the Federal Capital Territory Authority (FCTA) on Monday.

Speaking to Core Reporters in a phone chat,
a member who preferred anonymity due to the delicate nature of the issues at hand confirmed the sad news of the death of their member, Oluwanifemi who was also a security personnel. The member also confirmed the demolition of the garden by the FCTA on Monday.

According to him, “August 26, 2022 was a sad day to us at Likeminds FC as armed robbers invaded our garden which is our playground, robbed our EXCO members who were having a meeting there and killed one of us,  Ajewole Olumide Oluwanifemi whom until his death was an officer with the DSS.

“Meanwhile, we woke up on Monday again only to hear that the FCTA has also demolished our garden,” the member said.

Meanwhile, Likeminds FC has called on security agencies to do all within it’s authority to apprehend and bring to book the killers of Oluwanifemi their member.

The member, however, noted that Likeminds FC is ready to cooperate with security agencies to unmasked the  killers of their member.

Core Reporters report that an online medium had reported that, FCTA on Monday revoked an allocation and demolished  Spotlight Garden Events and Recreation located in Wuye District of Abuja.
