APC Receives Tinubu, Shettima’s 2027 Presidential Nomination Forms, Rallies Support for Re-election

Abuja (Core Reporters) The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday, July 10, formally received the duly completed presidential nomination forms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, marking the party’s official commencement of preparations for the 2027 general election.

The ceremony, held at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, brought together members of the National Working Committee (NWC), governors elected on the platform of the party, federal lawmakers, party leaders and stakeholders, who unanimously pledged support for the re-election bid of President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima.
Presenting the nomination documents on behalf of the President and Vice President, the Special Adviser to the President on Political and Other Matters, Hon. Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, said he was honoured to convey President Tinubu’s directive to formally submit the completed Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination documents to the party.
Masari described the submission as more than a constitutional requirement, saying it reflected the President’s confidence in the Nigerian people, the democratic process and his commitment to consolidating ongoing reforms in the areas of economic development, infrastructure, security, agriculture, education, healthcare and social investment.
He appreciated the leadership of the APC, governors, lawmakers, delegates and members across the country for their unwavering support of the Renewed Hope Agenda, urging party faithful to remain united and committed as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
Receiving the nomination documents, APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, described the occasion as another defining moment in the party’s democratic journey.
Argungu said the submission of the nomination forms reaffirmed the APC’s belief in visionary leadership, progressive governance and continued national development.
He assured members and stakeholders that the party remained committed to transparency, fairness, credibility and strict compliance with its constitution and the Electoral Act throughout its electoral processes.
The National Organising Secretary also called on APC members nationwide to remain united, disciplined and committed to securing victory for the party in the forthcoming general elections, while commending APC governors for delivering the dividends of democracy in their respective states.
Speaking on behalf of governors elected on the APC platform, Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, reaffirmed the governors’ unwavering support for President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima.
Uzodimma described the presentation of the nomination forms as a bold reaffirmation of the confidence the party has in President Tinubu’s leadership and noted that the nomination process reflected the APC’s commitment to internal democracy, discipline and institutional strength.
He said the governors remained fully aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda and pledged to continue supporting reforms aimed at economic recovery, infrastructure development, national security and inclusive governance.
The governor also praised the National Working Committee under the leadership of APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, for providing purposeful leadership and strengthening the party’s internal democratic processes.
In his address, APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, described the presentation of the presidential nomination forms as a celebration of confidence, continuity and the overwhelming mandate given by APC members across the country.
He said the APC remained Nigeria’s most organised political party, noting that its digitally verified membership register running into millions positioned it strongly for victory in the 2027 elections.
Yilwatda highlighted key achievements of the Tinubu administration, including the Student Loan Scheme, infrastructure development, agricultural support programmes, economic reforms and investments in social welfare, describing them as evidence that the Renewed Hope Agenda was producing tangible results.
He urged party leaders, governors and supporters to continue engaging Nigerians with facts about the administration’s achievements and to intensify grassroots mobilisation in every ward, local government and state ahead of the elections.
The APC National Chairman expressed confidence that President Tinubu’s performance, vision and leadership would earn the party an even stronger mandate in the 2027 general election.
The ceremony concluded with renewed pledges of unity by party leaders, who called on members across the country to remain steadfast in advancing the APC’s vision of progress, national development and democratic governance.
