ADC Unveils Constitution Review Committee, Moves to Strengthen Internal Democracy
By Raohael Ekoang
In its quest to strengthen internal democracy and prepare ahead of the 2027 general elections, as well as future challenges, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has unveiled a high-powered Constitution Review Committee as part of efforts to also strengthen accountability, and reposition the party for effective national leadership.
The unveiling of the committee took place on Thursday, January 8, at the party national secretariat in Abuja.
While inaugurating the committee, ADac National Chairman, Senator David Mark, former Nigerian Senate President, described the constitution as the moral compass and legal backbone of any political organisation, stressing that the review was timely and necessary to align the ADC with present realities, future challenges, and global best practices.
He explained that the exercise was not intended to alter the party’s founding principles but to strengthen them by promoting inclusiveness, fairness, discipline, and transparency across all party structures.
