The governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reaffirmed strong confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that the ongoing reforms under his administration are steadily repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth and long-term prosperity.
Fintiri made this known on Wednesday March 4, when he paid a courtesy visit to the party’s national secretariat.
Speaking on recent political developments, Gov. Fintiri noted that while the President’s microeconomic reforms initially posed challenges due to their far-reaching nature, the positive outcomes are now becoming evident.
According to him, the nation is firmly on the path of recovery and transformation, with clear signs that the difficult but necessary decisions are yielding measurable results.
“There is light at the end of the tunnel,” the statement emphasized, adding that the Renewed Hope Agenda continues to gain traction across critical sectors of the economy.
However, the APC national chairman, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda described the visit of governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and his defection as a major boost for the party. He noted that Fintiri’s track record in governance, particularly in driving coordination, development, and impactful projects in Adamawa State, aligns perfectly with the progressive ideals of the APC.
“We welcome him to where he rightfully belongs. He is a progressive with a progressive mindset, and the APC remains the natural home for leaders committed to reform, development, and national renewal,” the statement read.
On the issue of opposition politics, the party maintained that it is not the responsibility of the ruling party to organize or strengthen opposition groups. “Democracy is competitive. Our duty is to deliver good governance and win elections based on performance. The opposition must organize itself,” the statement added.
The chairman pointed to recent by-election victories across the country as evidence of growing public confidence in the party and its leadership.
He reiterated the party’s commitment to sustaining the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda and ensuring that its impact is felt by all Nigerians.
