Above 70 basketball and 20 American football players have gathered in Abuja for the 2022 edition of the Annual Ejike Ugboaja Foundation talents hunt (Basketball and American football open trial) which commencing on Wednesday.
The two-day event which will take place at the Parkage B of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja will showcase basketball and American football players from across the 36 states of the federation and Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the organizers, the players that would be selected from the two-day event will enjoy scholarship and placement in American Universities where they would have the opportunity to take their career to greater heights.
The President of Ejike Ugboaja foundation, Christopher Ejike Ugboaja said, this year edition of the talents hunt won’t be different from others, adding that the best players in both American football and basketball will enjoy the foundation scholarship to study abroad and take their career to professional level.
“You know, we’ve been doing this year in, year out and we are proud doing this because alot of Nigerians youths have been lifted from poverty courtesy of our foundation.
“As I speak to you now, thousands of them are playing basketball and American football at the United State of America and other countries abroad. And their family back here in Nigeria are no longer suffering because the money they are making, they are using it to help them out, and that’s good,” he said.
