National Chairman of Labour Party, Abdulsalam Abdulkadi

The Labour Party has dissociated itself from the legal action taken by the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) against president Muhammadu Buhari on the continued tenure elongation of the Service Chiefs.
The CUPP had filed a suit at the Federal High Court, Abuja against President Buhari and other respondents in the suit which include; the Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Naval Staff and Chief of Air Staff.
CUPP said they had passed a vote of no confidence on the service chiefs and their continued stay in office has undermined National security and demoralized troops.
But the Labor Party which is a strong member of the CUPP said it is not aware of the suit neither is it a party to it. Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, the National Chairman of Labour Party and member of the steering committee of the CUPP said the suit filed by a few members of CUPP is capable of destroying the nation’s critical institutions.
Abdulkadir said those that instituted the case do not have the authority of the CUPP to do so, therefore, such action amounts to personal vendetta against the security institution of the country.
Abdulkadir condemned some unnamed individuals for using the CUPP as a platform to fight personal battles instead of using their own individual political parties. He warned Nigerians to be wary of politicians who have decided to fight personal battles in the name of CUPP.
