National Personal Asset Acquisition Scheme (NAPAAS) has empowered the widows, children of ex servicemen under the auspices of Ex-Servicemen and Family Welfare Association of Nigeria with different items and cash donations at Masaka, Nasarawa State.
Speaking during the ceremony, the President of Ex Servicemen and Family Welfare Association of Nigeria, Master Warrant Officer Anthony Agbas (Rtd) who commended President Muhammadu Buhari, Minister of Defence, Salihu Magashi, NAPAAS and other stakeholders/investors for their endless support to them, said the support could not have come to any better time than this.
Agbas said NAPAAS gave them succour when people of this great country are in economic difficulties showing that the government is not insensitive to the feelings of the people of this country especially their widows and children of the fallen heroes.
He thanked NAPAAS for their noble contribution and for standing by them and providing basic need items which are helping in their welfare, eradicating poverty even during the security and COVID 19 challenges.
He therefore, calls on the Federal Government, National Assembly, Stakeholders/Investors and captains of industry to key into NAPAAS scheme saying that patience and resilience of their widows, children of fallen heroes and other dependents will not go unnoticed.
Also speaking, Managing Director of NAPAAS, Mr. Muhammad Aminu Bello said that NAPAAS is an economic empowerment programme for interested Ex-Servicemen and other organized pension groups through Public –Private Partnership in order to enable them achieve sustainable standard of living, create job opportunity to alleviate poverty, enhance self reliance and self sustenance.
Corere Reporters report that one of the beneficiaries, Mary Haruna who is the chairperson of Masaka Branch thanked NAPAAS saying that it has provided succor to them at their point of needs.
Mary Pius, Kande Abbah, Christiana Gideon, Christiana Alex and Helen Andrew won N10, 000 each through balloting while 29 other women got N100, 000.
A brand new tricycle popularly known as Keke NAPEP, bags of rice and other items were donated by NAPAAS.
