Dr. Oby Ezekwesili Celebrates SongWriters
Songwriters are hardly celebrated as they should and yet the words they put together can be what soothe our souls in times of grief. We see the artists (who may often not be the writers of the Songs) sing and pour all the praises on them. Sure, they deserve praise.
But I wish to start my week by celebrating all Songwriters who minister to our spirits with the meaningful words they inspiringly put together to create deep connections which speak to our spirits and help us hold together.
Since receiving news of the passing of a dearly loved elderly one yesterday, I have been singing a legendary song by Hillsong- “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” and still woke up with it playing in my spirit.
“Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You’ve never failed and You won’t start now

Lord, please grant your mercy and grace to the Songwriters- Joel Houston / Matt Crocker / Salomon Lighthelm and others like them all over the world.
Dear Lord, please give deep comfort to all who grieve today, dear Lord! Give them the ability to continue to trust Your love even in difficult times of grief. Grant them Your own rare peace which passes all human understanding that only You can give.
