Abuja (Core Reporters) The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa has condoled with the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Umo Bassey Eno and the entire state over the sudden passing away of his wife, Her Excellency Pastor Mrs Patience Umo Eno.
Gen. Muss while condoling with Gov. Eno and the entire Akwa Ibomites said, the news of the sad event came to us like a shock wave, adding that it has created a big vacuum in his family and the state at-large considering the noble role she played while alive.
In a statement by the director, defence information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau which was made available to Core Reporters on Friday, Gen. Musa said, “It is with heavy heart on behalf of the Armed Forces of Nigeria i condoled with hou His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State His Excellency Mr Umo Bassey Eno and the entire Akwa Ibom people over the sudden passing away of your amiable wife, Her Excellency Pastor Mrs Patience Umo Eno.
“The news of the sad event came to us like a shock wave. Surely, a big vacuum has been created in your family and the state considering the indispensable and invaluable roles she had played, most especially since the assumption of your administration.
“ Her Excellecy was not just a wife but a trusted and dependable ally to you. Notably, she will be fondly remembered for her efforts in enhancing the lives of the people of Akwa Ibom State particularly children, youths and vulnerable persons through her pet project, ‘Golden Initiative for All (GIFA).
“ Painful as her sudden and unexpected death may be, I urge you to take solace in the lucid fact that as mortal beings, who must one day leave this other side of the sun, we have hope beyond here. May the Almighty God, grant you, the entire members of your family, and the good people of Akwa Ibom State the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. Again, I wish those she left behind God’s divine protection always.
“Once again, on behalf of the AFN, I urge you to take heart as we share in your grief,” the CDS said.
