Nasarawa State governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has tasked state officials and stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) towards ensuring that the party remains united ahead of the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

Gov. Sule laid the task while delivering a speech at a thanksgiving service organized in honour of the State Chairman of the APC, Dr. John Mamman, which was held in Dari, Kokona Local Government Area, on Saturday.

This is just as the governor promised to appoint three women as commissioners as part of the inclusiveness of his administration.

Commenting on the need for the APC to remain united, Sule noted that the APC at the national level may be at the crossroads, especially after President Muhammadu Buhari leaves office in 2023.

The governor, therefore, emphasized the need for state party officials, as well as all critical stakeholders, to ensure that Nasarawa State remains an APC state.

According to the governor, the challenge ahead of the party’s leadership in the state is to ensure that irrespective of what is happening at the national level, Nasarawa remains APC.

“One thing that must be certain for us in Nasarawa State is that all the prominent politicians and party stalwarts have continued to remain within our party.

“We must continue to work together to remain a party that has continued to set an example for others to follow,” he said.

He used the opportunity of the event, to call on all stakeholders and members of the party, to put aside ego and personal interest and to work for the progress of the party.

While describing the celebrant as being loyal, honest and a person who has the capacity to be the chairman of the party, Gov. Sule called on all to support Dr. Mamman for the progress of the APC in the state.

Chairman at the occasion and first civilian governor of the state, Senator Abdullahi Adamu (APC, Nasarawa West), described Dr. Mamman as a person worth celebrating.

Senator Adamu described the celebrant as a trusted person, team leader and someone who recognizes leadership and is obedient to leadership.

On his part, the man of the moment and state Chairman of the APC, Dr. John Mamman, while thanking God for making the event possible, took out time to appreciate Engineer Sule, Senator Adamu, members of the national assembly from the state, Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe, as well as the Emir of Lafia, HRH Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad (rtd), for their support and encouragement leading him to his present position.

Dr. Mamman said Nasarawa State is blessed with a leader that is selfless, transparent and shows concern for his people, stressing that because of the quality of leadership under the Engineer Sule administration, no state in Nigeria will beat Nasarawa in terms of security and good governance.

Legal luminary and one-time special adviser to a former governor of the state, Barrister Labaran Magaji, described Dr. John Mamman as an epitome of humility, who symbolises hard work and has all it takes to move the APC forward.

Barrister Magaji called on the party faithful to join hands together to support the celebrant so that the APC will grow from strength to strength.
