2023 AFCON Qualifiers: Super Eagles drawn in Group A


The Super Eagles of Nigeria were on Tuesday drawn in Group A of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers for the year’s competition holding in Cote d’Ivoire.

Three times Africa Cup of Nations winners, Nigeria were drawn alongside Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau and either Sao Tome and Principe or Mauritius.

The draw which held on Tuesday in South Africa also saw the defending Champions Senegal drawn in Group L alongside Benin, Mozambique and Rwanda. 

Egypt are on Group D with Malawi, Guinea and Ethiopia, while, Ghana were drawn in Group E alongside Madagascar, Central African Rep and Angola 

In Group B, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Eswatini and Togo will slog it out. Also Group C, Cameroon, Burundi, Namibia and Kenya will test their might against each other.

Others include; Group F, Algeria, Uganda, Tanzania and Niger. Group G- Mali, South Sudan, The Gambia and Congo. Group H- Cote d’Ivoire, Comoros, Zambia and Lesotho 

Group I- DR Congo, Mauritania, Sudan and Gabon. Group J include; Tunisia, Equatorial Guinea, Libya and Botswana. And Group K include; Morocco, South Africa, Liberia and Zimbabwe I what seems as the group of death.
